Paul Signac, born Paul Victor Jules Signach, was a French painter who lived from November 11th, 1863 to August 15th, 1935. Although he was an Impressionist, Signac was also recognized for his pastel and oil paintings, as well as his bronze sculptures and prints. Interestingly, most of his paintings depict dancers. Signac is considered one of the founders of Impressionism, but he preferred to be called a realist. Another unique aspect of Signac's work is that he only painted indoors. Some of his most famous paintings include The Pont des Arts and Notre-Dame de la Garde (La Bonne-Mère). His works can be found in private collections and galleries worldwide. Overall, Signac's art is both legendary and beautiful.
