Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, born on May 6th, 1880 in Munich, the capital of the Kingdom of Bavaria, German Empire, and died on June 15th, 1938, in Davos, Switzerland. He received his education in landscape painting at Königliche Technische Hochschule. During his youth, he spent a few years in France, visiting museums and copying works by other painters, particularly admiring the work of Vincent Van Gogh. Kirchner was part of the Expressionism movement and is known for his colorful landscape paintings, such as Bern with Belltower, Cemetery in the Forest, Dance Hall Bellevue, and Pink Roses. Today, his paintings are exhibited in fine art galleries around the world, including New York, London, and St. Petersburg, as well as in private art collections.
